Profile - Anne Scanlon

"Anne Scanlon is a Brisbane based, self-taught, multimedia artist.  She is known for her unashamed use of colour and attention to detail, and 
has of recent times honed her eye for depicting Australian native bees. Her love of native bees started nearly a decade ago, and as she 
consciously adapted her much loved garden to provide food and habitat, her interest and love of them grew.  Even when not painting bees, Anme is drawn to expressing joy of everyday moments, and her art is always driven by a desire to uplift her viewer.  She is determined to inspire 
through her artwork a sense of reflection, and especially with her bees, an awareness of their importance in our urban environments."
