Jan Hodgson

 

Jan lives on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.  Always having had a strong interest in art finally in 1993 began painting professionally and now practiceses her passion daily. 

Having been involved in a number of group exhibitions and exhibiting extensively in Art Shows in Brisbane and regional centres in South East Queensland, resulting many sales and winning numerous awards for her works.

Artist Statement:

I attribute most of my achievements to the fact that I always paint what I enjoy.  I never tire of admiring the simple or sometimes extremely complex beauty of natures gifts.  I enjoy the challenge of bringing this beauty to others in my floral and still life paintings.  I also love natures creatures and I love capturing that quirky look or docile expression and to bring my subjects alive.

Jan paints exclusively in pastel.  Pastels are a very permanent painting medium and all paintings are executed with top quality archival artists materials.
